When asked what I love about Los Angeles, sometimes it's hard to verbalize what I love about my glorious city. I recently read an opening from a beautiful book called "Amazing Los Angeles" that voiced my thoughts on the matter very eloquently.
…And then there’s the stuff that doesn’t change, the things I’ll forever love about LA.
I love the contrasts-I love being able to ski in the morning and enjoy an ocean swim in the afternoon.
I love going to a farmers market in a t-shirt, then to a theater opening in a tuxedo.
I love the urban splendor and eccentricities of LA’s neighborhoods.
I love that if I went to a museum virtually every day of the year, I still could not see them all.
I love watching people shop, and seeing their joy when they find the perfect item.
I love watching a sushi chef shape his exquisite treats, and the smell of garlic and basil in a trattoria.
I love when the Dodgers win.
I love seeing my city as the backdrop in all those movies and TV shows.
I love that it’s full of promise, that creativity is fostered and that dreams come true.
Big dreams.

this did not help me get over the fact that lately I just want to be in LA and not Chicago. jeeeeez Annie! ;p
ReplyDeleteI know you really do love being able to ski in the morning ;)
ReplyDeleteBut for real it's great. I would just add "I love that Annie Terracina is in LA" to my list. I'm getting on indeed right now and looking at LA!
I've never been an LA girl, but that excerpt even made ME wish I were there soaking up some California sunshine!
